Why use an Open Graph preview tool?
Different social networks render link previews differently. While they all rely on the same underlying Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, the styling, truncation length, and image cropping vary across platforms.
What tags are being checked?
- Title:
og:title,twitter:title, or falling back to the<title>tag. - Description:
og:description,twitter:description, or falling back to the<meta name="description">tag. - Image:
og:imageortwitter:image. We also resolve relative image URLs to absolute ones.
Clearing the cache
If you've updated your tags but Facebook or Twitter are still showing the old ones, you'll need to force their scrapers to fetch the page again. Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger or the Twitter Card Validator to clear the cache.
