What is ads.txt?
ads.txt (Authorized Digital Sellers) is an IAB initiative that helps publishers declare who is authorized to sell their digital ad inventory. By creating a public record of authorized digital sellers, ads.txt creates greater transparency in the programmatic supply chain.
Required Syntax
Each line in an ads.txt file requires at least 3 comma-separated fields:
- Domain of the advertising system: The canonical domain name of the SSP, Exchange, or header wrapper system (e.g.,
google.com). - Publisher's Account ID: The identifier associated with the seller or publisher account within the advertising system (e.g.,
pub-123456789). - Type of Account: Must be either
DIRECTorRESELLER. - Certification Authority ID (Optional): An ID that uniquely identifies the advertising system within a certification authority (e.g., TAG ID).
